Rosacea, however, typically manifests in middle-aged women and can be mistaken for acne. Rosacea tends to be more chronic and requires longer-term treatment.

Other Treatments Which Can Complement Management Of Acne:
- Hydradermabrasion procedure that simultaneously combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and antioxidant protection. Expected results are the improvement of appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, oily and congested skin.
- Lightening cream (hydroquinone or peptide or botanical range) to lighten pigmentation
- Laser treatment to help even your skin tone and reduce redness on your skin
Acne Scars Come In Various Forms
- For shallow, depressed, and rolling scars; one can consider fractional CO2 laser or injections of fillers.
- For ice picks; one can consider skin surgery or application of trichloroacetic acid.

There are 2 components to rosacea: the inflamed bumps and the background of prominent red blood vessels. Therefore, you will usually need 2 forms of treatments: medical and procedural.

Dr Liew Hui Min
Dr. Liew Hui Min is an accredited consultant dermatologist from the Ministry of Health and the General Medical Council UK.
Her clinical interest includes:
- Paediatric Dermatology,
- Women’s Dermatology,
- General Adult Dermatology.
Having trained in major London Hospitals, Dr Liew returned to Singapore in 2014 as a Consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) where she specialised in paediatric, women, obstetric and vulva dermatology. Currently, Dr Liew practices at HM Liew Skin & Laser Clinic located at Gleneagles Hospital.
